May heralds the celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Cultural Heritage Month, and what better way to participate than by engaging in an activity that honors these cultures deeply? Welcome to Spring Into Summer Tai Chi at Observatory Park, a unique event designed to immerse participants in the tranquil practice of Tai Chi. Nestled within the serene greens of Observatory Park, this occasion is more than just an exercise routine; it’s a communal gathering that celebrates cultural heritage and promotes health and wellness amongst attendees.

Delving into the specifics, the event kicks off on Monday, May 6, 2024, offering a monthly escapade into the world of Tai Chi from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 am throughout April and May. As the warmth of summer approaches, the time shifts to an earlier slot of 9:00 am from June through August, catering to the comfort of participants. This gathering, which is taking place at 2930 East Warren Avenue in Denver, Colorado, is not just about the venue or the time; rather, Joe Brady and Jacqui Shumway from the Tai Chi Project at the Living Younger Longer Institute will be guiding how to connect with the community and oneself.

Celebrating cultural heritage with themed months.

The invitation is open to all, irrespective of one’s experience with Tai Chi. From novices to seasoned Tai Chi practitioners, everyone is encouraged to step into the lush expanse of Observatory Park and experience the multitude of benefits that Tai Chi has to offer. Under the guidance of accomplished instructors like Brady and Shumway, participants will explore the fluid movements of Tai Chi Ch’uan, fostering a deeper understanding of this ancient art that emphasizes balance, flexibility, and peace of mind. The serene setting of Observatory Park complements the practice, enhancing the calming and restorative effects that Tai Chi is known for.

As the organization gears up for these enriching sessions, there is also a reminder for everyone about the slight timing change during the summer months. Starting in June, sessions will now begin at 9:00 am, ensuring a cooler, more pleasant environment for all attendees. The organization looks forward to welcoming residents, potential home buyers and sellers, local business owners, and anyone interested in celebrating cultural heritage, promoting wellness, and building community. See you on Monday!
